EQUIP AUTO: Destination efficiency

With 110 days to go before the exhibition opens its doors on 15 October, EQUIP AUTO 2007 can already confirm massive interest from French and international exhibitors for this 18th session: 93% of the available exhibition space has already been booked by some 2,000 companies. This high take-up – higher than in 2005 – suggests that the exhibition is set to meet its targets: from 15 to 20 October, 2,140 exhibitors – including 75% international exhibitors – will welcome more than 140,000 visitors.

Meetings made for efficiency

EQUIP AUTO 2007 will build on the initiatives introduced in 2005 with a range of high-impact events for visitors and exhibitors, in two categories:

  • 100% B2B: the OEM Meetings, taking place on 16 and 17 October;
  • 100% practical: the Business Exchange and Recruitment Mart (19 and 20 October) and the “Future Pro” Workshops (16 to 18 October).

These events will complement the show’s established flagship events: the Bodywork Colloquium (organised by the FFC and GIAC, morning of 18 October), the Higher Education conference (morning of 19 October), the “SIA – French association of automotive engineers – afternoons” (15, 16, 17 and 18 October from 3 pm to 5 pm) and the Technology Talks (every day).

The Business Exchange and Recruitment Mart: company handover and recruitment solutions

The aim of the Business Exchange and Recruitment Mart being launched at EQUIP AUTO 2007 is to provide a dynamic solution to two key challenges for the profession: buying/selling established businesses and recruitment.

  • Recruitment (19 October): EQUIP AUTO, working in partnership with the leading temporary employment, recruitment and jobsearch organisations (private and public), will present jobseekers’ advertisements sorted by key criteria – experience, location, profile. An audience of pre-registered business leaders (who can register online at www.equipauto.com from 1 July onwards) can reply to the advertisements that interest them using a dedicated terminal. The list of respondents is supplied to the advertiser and meetings can take place at the exhibition on the same afternoon.
  • Company transfers (20 October): EQUIP AUTO, in partnership with the leading consultancies specialising in business handovers, will be publicising company sale/purchase advertisements for automotive distribution and/or after-sales operations. Pre-registered interested parties can respond and the two parties are put in touch in the same way.

The “Future Pro” workshops: brands meet trainees

The aim of the “Future Pro” workshops is to provide students working towards a qualification in the automotive sector with detailed information on their profession and perhaps offer them a route into employment. The workshops will be run by the leading automotive after-sales networks, independent businesses and manufacturers for trainees at six specialist automotive training colleges, focusing on specific sectors:

  • Tuesday 16 October: fast-fit and auto centres;
  • Wednesday 17 October: body repair and mechanics networks.
  • Thursday 18 October: vehicle manufacturers and brand networks;

With this array of innovative events EQUIP AUTO 2007 will provide practical solutions to visitors who want to see concrete results as well as qualified contacts to all its exhibitors.

*Separate digests for 8 geographic regions: Western and Northern Europe; Central and Eastern Europe; Middle East; Africa; Oceania; North America; South and Central America; Asia.

The next press release, focusing on Events at EQUIP AUTO 2007, will follow on 16 July 2007.
